Assembly Panel

The Assembly panel plays and edits step-by-step procedures, and stores named poses of the scene. Arrangements sit above Sequence. Sequence contains Sequences, Playback, Edit, and the step list.

Arrangements

An arrangement is a named snapshot of position, rotation, scale, and visibility for every part, plus an optional camera. It is independent of any sequence. Arrangements belong to the scene and are shared by all sequences. Use one for a configuration you want to return to, such as an exploded view, rather than for the procedure that reaches it.

  • Status – Read-only. Shows – not applied – when none is selected, otherwise the index and name, for example 2: Exploded. After a drag or sequence playback the label gains (modified). The selection stays, so it can still be updated, renamed, moved, or deleted.

  • Animate (Playback settings) – On by default. Applying an arrangement moves each part from where it is to the stored pose, using Duration, Ease, Delay, Stagger, Overwrite, Repeat, Yoyo, and Repeat delay from Playback → Animation Settings. The Playback Loop switch is not used. Off snaps instantly. When Animate is on, the camera follows the Playback Camera switch; when Animate is off, the camera snaps too.

  • + Capture current – Asks for a name and stores the current pose as a new arrangement. The default name is Arrangement N.

  • ↻ Update active – Overwrites the selected arrangement with the current pose and clears (modified). Disabled for Initial and when nothing is selected.

  • ✎ Rename – Renames the selected arrangement. Disabled for Initial.

  • ⧉ Duplicate – Copies the selected arrangement, or Initial when none is selected, and selects the copy. A copy of Initial stores the as-loaded poses and has no camera.

  • ↑ Move up / ↓ Move down – Reorders captured arrangements. Initial stays at the top and cannot move. A move is undoable.

  • ✕ Delete – Deletes the selected arrangement after confirmation. Initial cannot be deleted.

  • ✕ Delete all… – Deletes every captured arrangement and keeps Initial. Asks for confirmation.

  • 📷 Save camera view / ✕ Clear camera view – Stores or removes the current camera position, target, and zoom on the selected arrangement. Disabled for Initial. Applying the arrangement later moves the camera only when Playback Camera is on.

Saved arrangements

The subfolder is Saved arrangements (N), where N is the number of captured arrangements, or Saved arrangements (empty) when only Initial exists. Initial is always the first button and means the as-loaded pose. Each button shows the index and name. The selected one is prefixed with ▶, or ● and (modified) when the scene has diverged. A saved camera adds 📷. Clicking a button applies that arrangement. Applying one leaves edit mode, detaches sequence playback, and clears the step-list highlight, because the scene no longer matches a step. Use the step list or Playback to return to a sequence position. Applying an arrangement is undoable.

Arrangements are stored in the GLB and restored on load. Importing a model that already contains arrangements adds them to the catalog. A manual move, or sequence navigation, marks the selection (modified). Use ↻ Update active to write that pose back, or + Capture current to keep it as a separate arrangement.

Sequence

A scene can hold several procedures over the same parts. Only one is active, because steps move the objects in the viewport. The assembled pose of a part belongs to that sequence. Editing it in one procedure does not change the others. Duplicating a sequence copies its steps and its assembled poses. All sequences are saved in the GLB. Importing a model that already contains sequences adds them as new entries. The self-contained HTML export contains only the active sequence.

Sequences (N)

The folder title includes the sequence count.

  • Active sequence – Chooses the sequence used by Playback, Edit, and the step list. Options are numbered, for example 1: Sequence 1. Switching first returns objects to the assembled pose of the sequence you are leaving, then applies the assembled pose of the sequence you enter. A part the new sequence has never recorded stays where the previous assembled pose left it.

  • + New sequence – Asks for a name, creates an empty sequence, and makes it active.

  • ⧉ Duplicate sequence – Asks for a name and copies the active sequence, including steps and assembled poses. The copy becomes active.

  • ✎ Rename sequence – Renames the active sequence. The name is kept unique.

  • ✕ Delete sequence – Deletes the active sequence after confirmation and returns objects to the assembled pose. When it is the only sequence, the steps are cleared instead of removing the sequence. An already empty sole sequence is left as it is.

Playback

  • Status – Read-only. At the start it reads Assembled (N steps). On a step it reads 2/5: Attach lid. When more than one sequence exists, the sequence name is prefixed in brackets. After an arrangement is applied it reads –, because playback no longer matches the step index.

  • Show step overlay – On by default. Shows a label at the top of the viewport. On a step it shows the step name and description. After an arrangement is applied it shows that arrangement's name, plus (modified) when the scene has diverged. At the assembled position with no arrangement, the overlay is hidden.

  • Loop ∞ (start ↔ finish) – Off by default. Animated playback repeats between the start and the finish.

  • Camera 🎥 (animate camera) – On by default. During animated playback, and when an arrangement is applied with Animate on, the camera moves to the saved view.

  • Zoom coeff 🔍 (ortho only) – 0.1–5, step 0.05, default 1. Scales the orthographic zoom of a saved camera. Ignored by the perspective camera.

  • ⏮ Reset to start [Home] – Jumps to the fully assembled pose, before step 1. Shortcut: Home.

  • ◀◀ Animate to start [Shift+PgUp] – Plays backward to the start. Shortcut: Shift+PageUp.

  • ◀ Previous step [PageUp] – One step backward. Shortcut: PageUp.

  • Next step ▶ [PageDown] – One step forward. Shortcut: PageDown.

  • Animate to finish ▶▶ [Shift+PgDn] – Plays forward through the remaining steps. Shortcut: Shift+PageDown.

  • Reset to finish ⏭ [End] – Jumps to the fully disassembled pose, after the last step. Shortcut: End.

Animation Settings

GSAP settings for step playback and for animated arrangements.

  • Duration (ms) – Length of one step, 0–2000, step 50. Default 1000.

  • Ease – Easing curve. none, or power1–power4, back, bounce, elastic, circ, expo, and sine, each with .in, .out, and .inOut. Default power1.inOut.

  • Repeat (-1=∞) – Repeats of each step, from −1 to 10. -1 repeats forever. Default 0.

  • Delay (ms) – Pause before a step starts, 0–2000, step 50. Default 100.

  • Repeat delay (ms) – Pause between repeats, 0–2000, step 50. Default 0.

  • Yoyo – Off by default. Each repeat plays back in the opposite direction.

  • Stagger (ms) – Delay between objects inside the same step, 0–1000, step 10. Default 0.

  • Overwrite – auto (default), true (stop earlier tweens on the same object), or false (leave them running).

Edit

Edit mode, ✏ Edit assembled [Home], and ✏ Edit disassembled [End] are always available. The other controls in this folder stay disabled until edit mode is on. While edit mode is on, dragging a named object records that move. On 0: Assembled the drag updates that sequence's assembled start, and the disassembled positions stay. In disassembled editing, the drag updates the final pose of the step that already contains the object, not automatically the last step. An object that is not in any step is not added by the drag.

  • Edit mode – Turns recording on or off. Assembly edit disables the Tools buttons.

  • ✏ Edit assembled [Home] – Jumps to the assembled pose and turns edit mode on. Shortcut: Home.

  • ✏ Edit disassembled [End] – Jumps to the disassembled pose and turns edit mode on. Shortcut: End.

  • Active step – Read-only. On a step it shows the index, how many moves are recorded, and 📷 when a camera is saved, for example 2/5: (3 moves) 📷. At the start in edit mode it reads Assembled (edit start positions).

  • Step name – Name of the active step. Shown in Status and on the step button.

  • Description – Optional text. Shown in the viewport overlay under the step name.

  • + New step – Adds an empty step after the current position.

  • ✕ Delete step – Removes the active step and its recorded moves.

  • ✕ Delete all steps… – After confirmation, removes every step of the active sequence and returns objects to the assembled pose.

  • ↑ Move step up / ↓ Move step down – Moves the active step earlier or later in the sequence.

  • ✕ Remove selected from step – Removes the selected object, or every object in the current group selection, from the active step. Asks for confirmation, then asks whether to reset those objects to their initial location. Does nothing on 0: Assembled.

  • ☑ Select step objects – Puts the step's objects into the group selection. On a step, that is the objects moved by the step. On 0: Assembled, that is every object used anywhere in the sequence.

  • 📷 Save camera view – Stores the current camera on the active step. Playback uses it when Camera is on.

  • ✕ Clear camera view – Removes the saved camera from the active step.

Steps

The last folder under Sequence. The title is Steps (N), or Steps (empty) when there are no steps. With more than one sequence, the active sequence name is prefixed. 0: Assembled jumps to the assembled pose. Each following button is index: step name, with 📷 when that step has a camera. The current row is prefixed with ▶. While edit mode is on at the assembled pose, or while disassembled editing is active, the matching row is prefixed with ✏. Clicking a step animates to it.

Creating a sequence

  1. Load the assembled model.

  2. Open Assembly and turn on Edit mode, or use ✏ Edit disassembled [End] when you want to record from the finished pose.

  3. Click + New step and name it.

  4. Select an object and drag it to the pose for that step. The move is recorded.

  5. Repeat for each step. ☑ Select step objects highlights the parts already in the step.

  6. Review it with Playback.

  7. For another order, use ⧉ Duplicate sequence and rearrange the copy. The original stays as it was.

  8. Save from the File panel. The GLB stores every sequence.
